finals and fun

No, final exams were not fun, but they certainly were a lot easier than a regular semester.  They were still hard and required a lot of us, but it was a lot less stressful than the usual.  I for one, was really grateful that I only had one "real" exam, that I had to study for and take.  The other exams were essays and papers that I was able to do leisurely throughout the week.  It was really quite nice.  I made a plan to be done by Friday afternoon, giving myself assignments for each day. However, on Wednesday I got a little ahead and Thursday morning I was really productive and I managed to turn everything in by lunch time.  It was kind of weird being done, but so, so nice.  I went with some friends to see the "Parent Trap" house and afterwards, I went to Gourmet Burger Kitchen to celebrate finishing and got an Oreo milkshake that was delicious.  I've been craving a milkshake nearly the entire semester and used it as a motivator for the last few weeks.  I'd like to think it worked pretty well.

That night we saw "Matilda" which was really interesting. The child actors were quite amazing and once the second act picked up the pace a bit, I enjoyed it a lot more.  On Monday we saw "Singin' in the Rain" which was fun, though I think I like the movie better.  We had to write our final paper for Musical Theatre on this musical and it was honestly, really hard.  Hopefully my paper is as good as I thought!

The last few days have been really nice.  Honestly, it feels like I'm on vacation now.  Friday I went shopping and found some really cute clothes and then Saturday I went to Portobello Road and found a very belated birthday gift for my brother.  I'll see him today and give it to him; but I just hope he likes it!  I also got some nectarines at the market and I stopped by "Hummingbird Bakery" for a carrot cake cupcake.  It was amazing and I think I'm going to buy their cookbook (or one of them) the next chance I get.  I might just have to go back before I leave for one of their other cupcakes; maybe red velvet or black bottomed.
